The Lindsay King Foundation

Our Story

The Lindsay King Foundation was founded in 2025 by designer and advocate Lindsay King, following two decades in Indigenous social work and foster parenting. After years of supporting children, families, and communities, Lindsay pursued her lifelong dream of fashion design — merging her artistry with advocacy to create meaningful change. The foundation grew out of this journey, carrying forward a vision where creativity becomes a tool for healing, empowerment, and cultural restoration.

Our Mission

The Lindsay King Foundation is an Indigenous-led nonprofit dedicated to repairing the cultural and artistic damage caused by the residential school era. Through collective healing, we restore culture, strengthen communities, and honour the beauty, creativity, and resilience of Indigenous peoples.

Our Goal

We create spaces for Indigenous communities to reconnect with their creative voices through education, mentorship, and artistic expression. By nurturing the next generation of leaders and fostering pride in cultural identity, we aim to support healing and inspire a future where Indigenous artistry is deeply valued and sustained.

Who We Serve

We serve Indigenous youth, women, and communities seeking connection, healing, and creative expression. Our work is rooted in lived experience, offering support that is culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and centred on both personal and collective transformation.

What We Offer

We offer creative workshops, mentorship, life coaching, and keynote speaking that weave together storytelling, skill-building, and healing. Each experience is designed to empower individuals to reclaim their narratives, strengthen self-worth, and express themselves through art and culture.

Speaking Engagements

Speaking Engagements

Storytelling. Creativity. Intuition.

Lindsay King is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and speaker based in Toronto, Canada. After more than 20 years in social work and community advocacy, she stepped fully into fashion at 39 — building a luxury outerwear brand rooted in craftsmanship, ethical and sustainable practices, and creating garments with natural materials designed to last.

Lindsay is a powerful storyteller, speaking from lived experience. She shares her journey of reinvention, resilience, and creativity — guided by intuition, faith, and a deep trust in following what’s meant for her.

Her work has taken her into high schools, art programs, fashion and panel spaces, and women’s wellness conferences — including spaces supporting Indigenous women in business — creating conversations that are honest, reflective, and grounded in real life.

Lindsay’s sessions explore:

  • Recognizing your gifts of soul and having the courage to honour them
  • Beginning to release generational trauma and internalized barriers
  • Why it’s never too late to pursue your dreams — from social work to fashion design
  • Fashion as art, healing, and personal expression
  • Creative entrepreneurship and purpose-led leadership
  • Resilience, self-worth, and empowerment for women and youth
  • Storytelling as medicine and a tool for identity building

Each keynote or coaching session is custom tailored to the audience and grounded in lived experience, creativity, and reflection.

“Lindsay is a gifted storyteller. Sharing her vulnerabilities with her audience is one of her greatest strengths. She speaks from the heart, and her humility is deeply inspiring. I would highly recommend Lindsay King as a presenter—she has a wealth of wisdom that she openly shares.”

CINDY CROWE

“Lindsay is a fire lighting up spaces! Her story is a power story filled with a “too” common experience of Indigenous peoples and the struggles rooted in a history of colonialism. But! Like many fire keepers across the island Lindsay’s spirit is indomitable and we were all taken in by her story leaving us fully inspired and full with new medicine to add to our pouches. We lift our feathers to Lindsay. Ninanaskomitin Nitotem.”
